I agree with what you are saying. It’s hard to care about people that don’t care about you. It’s hard to care about white people who as a group have done and continue to do harm to people of color. I wonder if it is beyond human nature to care under these circumstances. Even as a white woman I’ve become afraid and angry with the police, white men, and seemingly “nice” white people who don’t seem to care at all when a brown child/woman/man dies. Like those are “other” people. Maybe because I’m white, very empathetic or naive, I want us to still care when any innocent person is murdered. If we can’t care anymore, what are we becoming?
