The Kid

The goat bleated as Amar held its head up for inspection. Then he dumped the contents of his worn out duffel bag on the table, “What’s all this rubbish?” The Kid asked as he colored his unicorn horn pink with wax crayons.
“All this costs 10,000 Rs,” blurted Amar.
“Do you take me for a fool? I want cash or the deal is off!”
“But… but it truly…”
“You know what? The deal is off,” The Kid said fuming, and took a large sip of freakshake to calm himself.
“No… Please… No. Give me some time. I’ll get cash by the end of this week. Please don’t cancel the deal.”
The Kid gave him a impatient look, looked at his wrist that had a watch painted on it and said, “alright, you have one week. Now get out of here, I’m getting late for homework.”
“Thank you The Kid Sir, thank you so much.”
Amar wondered how he’d get all the money by this weekend. “Damn you goat, I thought he’d take you for the market value” he cursed, the goat bleated in response. I don’t even know anyone rich enough to rob them. Maybe I should take a loan but I’ll never be able to pay it off… If I cover my friend’s shift at work for the next 7 days, I’ll still be 5000 short.
“Woof woof” Tusker, The Kid’s dog came up to Amar, sniffing, probing him for treats.
“Hey there Tusker, how have you been doing?” Tusker licked the biscuit crumbs out of Amar’s palms.
