I dig it.
As to the idea that Obi-Wan was too committed to the Jedi order to stray from the code — what order was left? Yoda survived, Mace Windu slain by Anakin, and the rest of the Jedi hunted and likely all eliminated. He saw that Luke and Leia were the next hope, looking to the next generation that he could also contribute to, Jedi order and code be damned.
And while Obi-Wan was seen as more virtuous than Anakin and (possibly) Luke, and that virtue may have passed down to Rey, I so hope Rey has a stronger urge toward the dark side (after discovering Kylo and/or Snoke killed her parents?) that she battles through. The near perfectly goody two shoesness of Luke was, well, expected of a hero; the gradual and known-by-the-audience-from-the-very-beginning descent of Anakin was just known and projected on every single poorly worded phrase that fell out of his tragic hero’s mouth. Can’t we have something surprising, and a turn to something dark that will make Kylo and Snoke look tame in comparison? (Only for the turn back to the light side to ultimately save the universe, of course.)
