Fasting is a job that is very beneficial for all those who run it. Fasting is obligatory worship is executed particularly in the month of Ramadan, but in addition there is a worship that must exist also worship Sunnah. Sunnah worship is a complement of worship obligatory. For instance daily prayers, in addition there is the obligatory worship, there is also a sunnah prayer worship. Sunnah is the worship that should not be done but it has more benefits than worship obligatory.

In addition there is the obligatory fasting, there is also a sunnah fasting. Sunnah fasting is a complement of the fasting obligatory, and the benefits of fasting Sunnah exceeds the benefits of fasting that is obligatory. One of the benefits of fasting is to resist the temptation of the devil is always tempting lust person. So by fasting we are trying to refrain from all kinds of temptations that can drop us into hell.

Various Sunnah Fasting

Fasting Monday and Thursday

Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays is one of the fasting that is often carried out by the Prophet Muhammad and always istiqomah. From Abu Hurairah RA said, the Prophet SAW said:

“Prophet Muhammad was the most frequently fasted on Mondays and Thursdays. When asked why, he said: “Indeed, all deeds presented on Monday and Thursday, then Allaah wants to eliminate the sin of every Muslim man and his sins believing person, but two people who hostile. Then God said: “Suspend both” (Reported by Ahmad)

Fasting Daud

Daud fasting is fasting that is most liked by Allah. Rasulullah SAW said:

“At best pray according to God is the prayer of the Prophet Daud AS — And fasting the most favored of God is the fasting of David. Prophet Daud used to sleep at night and wake up in the middle-third and one-sixth of sleep laig on. Daud was a day of fasting and not fasting the next day. “(Reported by Bukhari)

Fasting on the day of Arafah

Arafah is fasting Fasting held on the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah or coincide with the pilgrimage season. Named fasting Arafat because on that day all the pilgrims from all over the world are doing before staying at the Plain of Arafat. Fasting Arafat has tremendous benefits.

Mid Fasting Month

One who never misses fasting of the Prophet Muhammad is a day of fasting mid or Ayyamul Bidh. In the middle of the month will take place every full moon, the full moon is a moment of the most unstable for every human being. By fasting, the appetite will be unbearable.

In the Month of Fasting Six Days of Shawwal

After fasting during Ramadan there is also fasting month of Shawwal, fasting is quite 6 days in a month. How to run it does not necessarily sequentially. Fasting as a complement of obligatory fasting month of Ramadan.

Fasting Month of Muharram or Fasting ‘Ashura

In the month of Muharram precisely on the 10th of Muharram, there is a Prophet recommended fasting are commonly known as fasting ‘Asyuraa. It is recommended again that fasting on the previous day on the 9th of Muharram, it is to distinguish the Christian community that fasting on the 10th of her.

Fasting During the Month of Sha’ban

It is advisable to multiply fast in this month, its virtues are all good deeds and bad appointed to testified later in the afterlife.

The Virtue of Fasting Sunnah

From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet SAW said:

“Allah says (which means): Every human practice is for him except fasting, fasting for me.” (Bukhari)

  1. Replies infinite for the fasting person.
  2. The practice of fasting specifically for God.
  3. By fasting person can go to heaven.
  4. Two happiness achieved for the fasting person when breaking the fast is happiness and happiness when meeting with his Creator.
  5. The smell of the mouth of a fasting person is more fragrant in the sight of Allah SWT as the smell of musk oil.

Fasting is Used to Draw Closer to Allah SWT

By getting used to fasting outside the obligatory fasting is a sign of acceptance of deeds and actions, if Allah wills. This is because Allah accept good deeds every Muslim if he do good deeds after the obligatory. The proximity of a person with God, it will be a convenience for him to expect any grace. Because somebody rank equally affect the prayers that every being said to him.

Apparent differences prayer good boy and a bad boy or disobedient to his parents. Prayer good son will sooner granted than a naughty child.

The Obedient make Worshipping

By fasting Sunnah then it becomes a Muslim promise to the Creator that compliance will continue not only during Ramadan. With the end of the fasting month does not mean fasting also stopped, but is prescribed throughout the year. By fasting also signifies intend to stay away from anything that may break the fast, so most people prefer to worship a lot in order to get the blessing of Allah more and to avoid actions that leads away from Him.

Allah makes The Love to Humans

Sunnah fasting made since the onset of the love of Allah to his servant and the cause of granted prayer, elimination of errors, multiplied kindness, elevated in rank to make heaven as his final destination.

Among the sunnah fasts are also fasting is not recommended (Not recommended fasting at certain times):

  1. Fasting Arafat for people who are performing Hajj.
  2. Fasting on Friday alone.
  3. Fasting on Saturday alone.
  4. Fasting on the last day of the month of Sha’ban, except to coincide with the fasting on Mondays and Thursdays.

And these days of fasting Prohibition:
1. Fasting on the two holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Adha.
2. Fasting in mid-Hijjah (11, 12, 13 Dhu al-Hijjah).
3. Fasting during menstruation or childbirth in women.
4. Fasting is where prohibited by her husband.
5. Fasting for the sick that if he fasted then it will harm it.

For a list of some benefit if diligent fasting:

  1. Removing toxins in the body.
  2. Giving the time of rest for the digestive organs.
  3. Can lower blood pressure.
  4. Can lowering cholesterol levels.
  5. Soothing the soul and feeling.
  6. Being able to control the passions.
  7. Provide a sense of empathy for others.
  8. Creates a sense of solidarity with the less fortunate.

So that worship is always accepted by Allah SWT to always sincere in running each worship. Hopefully this can add to the science and religion, especially about fasting.
