Why you don’t need to travelThe tourism industry is a testament to the demise of curiosity. People travel thousands of miles to see the Grand Canyon or the Swiss Alps. Why are these places worth so much effort to see? The explanation I’ve heard most is that they are majestic. They inspire in us a sense of awe and wonder, far outstripping our daily experience.
