3 days to go before LEJOG…
Training is now over, in 3 days time 5 members of the Training 2000 team will be heading down to Lands’ End to complete the charity cycle across the country, finishing at John O’Groats. This will involve cycling over 900 miles -an average of 100 miles a day - for 9 days to raise money for Derian House Children’s hospice which is a great local cause in the North West of England and is a nominated charity for us all at Training 2000.
The routes have now been finalised:
Friday 11th August: We will travel down to Lands’ End in the early hours of Friday morning in order to complete the first 25 miles of our journey, taking us from Lands’ End to Camborne.
Day 1— Saturday 12th August: This day will take us from Camborne to Okehampton and will consist of over 80 miles and around 6,000 feet of climbing.
Day 2— Sunday 13th August: We will cycle from Okehampton to Bristol which is around 110 miles and will take us over 6,000 feet of inclines.
Day 3 — Monday 14th August: Bristol to Shrewsbury is a 110 mile journey which will take us through the Cheddar Gorge.
Day 4 — Tuesday 15th August: Day 4 will see us travel 110 miles, some of which through familiar territory as we cycle from Shrewsbury and finish the day in Lancaster — just a few miles away from our workplace in Blackburn!
Day 5 — Wednesday 16th August: We will head another 110 miles up from Lancaster, past the Lake District and into Scotland with Moffat our destination for the night.
Day 6 — Thursday 17th August: Heading further up Scotland, Moffat to Loch Lomond will take us through Glasgow in a 96 mile cycle.
Day 7 — Friday 18th August: A shorter cycling distance on Day 7 which consists of a 70 mile cycle from Loch Lomond to Fort William.
Day 8 — Saturday 19th August: The penultimate day of cycling will be a 90 mile cycle from Fort William to Invergordon.
Day 9 — Sunday 20th August: The final day of our LEJOG charity cycle will be a near 100 mile cycle up from Invergordon and we will then reach our final destination of John O’Groats!
