Dare To Know about Deep Learning with Rachel Thomas

We are so excited to present another one of TEDxSanFrancisco’s fabulous speakers: Rachel Thomas. Rachel is a trailblazer in the deep learning space; in co-founding fast.ai, she is dedicated to making the power of deep learning accessible to all. Rachel believes that deep learning is dramatically improving medicine, education, agriculture, transportation and in order for its full potential to be met, the technology needs to be much easier to use, more reliable, and more intuitive than it is today. In creating the “Practical Deep Learning for Coders” course–a course taken completed by over 100,000 students–fast.ai is doing just that. Come listen to Rachel talk about effective ways to democratize deep learning so that deep learning can be leveraged to improve the world around us.
Rachel is also a popular writer and keynote speaker. Her writing has been read by over half a million people and has been translated into Chinese, Spanish, Korean, and Portuguese. Some of Rachel’s popular articles include Deep Learning: Not Just for Silicon Valley, How to change careers and become a data scientist — one quant’s experience, and If you think women in tech is a just a pipeline problem, you haven’t been paying attention.
Rachel was selected by Forbes as one of 20 Incredible Women in AI, earned her math PhD at Duke University, and was an early engineer at Uber.
