THE SPIRIT OF THE WORD — Foundational Revelation that the body of Christ should know.
Words are formed by letters. When you put letters together, they form words. Those words are what we see and read! If we read them out loud, those same words are what we now hear! When we see, read, or hear the words, we are experiencing what is known as “The Letter of The Word”. This is what the Scribes and the Pharisees were experts at.
What I want to share with you is that there is something more, something deeper. There is also what is known as, “The Spirit of The Word” — (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) — this is what Jesus taught most of the time. The Spirit of The Word is not written in black and white on paper. You can’t see it, and the only way that you can hear it, is if it is revealed to you, by The Holy Ghost.
The Spirit of The Word of God is the bigger picture, the larger idea and concept, the purpose, and the intent within, and behind The Word of God, and the Holy Ghost is the only one who can give it to you. The Holy Ghost does “Not” do dictation with this! He Inspires mankind with the breath of revelation and knowledge from the mind of God. You should know and remember that the Holy Ghost knows the deep things of the mind of God, and he chooses who gets to receive, and how much of this knowledge is released. (1 Corinthians 2:9, 10, 11)
Man uses letters to form words that describe to the best of his ability that which he understood the Inspiration (breath of revelation and knowledge) from the Holy Ghost to mean to him. When you read scriptures, this is what you are seeing with your eyes. You are seeing someone’s attempt at writing down that which the Holy Ghost poured into them by way of inspiration.
The written scriptures are a “snap shot” or a “billboard” of what God really wants you to know. A good example of this is presented when we read about Noah. Noah was inspired by God’s Spirit to build an ark. He was given specific dimensions, and he was told why, so for 120 years, he put letters together that formed the word “rain” to describe what was coming, but rain had never happened before, so no one really knew, nor wanted to know, what he was talking about. Rain was an inspired revelation.
There was no urgency, fear, or respect for The Word, nor the message from God because there was no revelation. Until you experience “The Spirit of The Word”, everything in God’s scriptures, are just rumors and hearsay to you! As we know however, they found out! When we “study”, and spend quiet respectful time with the Lord in His scriptures, the Holy Ghost will give us instructions, direction, and revelation that goes deeper, than what our eyes can see written. He can even do this for us in our sleep!
When we receive those instructions, directions, and revelation from The Holy Ghost, that is what is known as receiving “A Word from the Lord”. A word from the Lord changes everything! “The Spirit of The Word”, is the “reality”, or “Truth” of its meaning, not the spelling of the word. I can spell c.o.f.f.e.e.- p.o.p.- f.r.i.e.d. c.h.i.c.k.e.n. — and c.a.k.e., all day long, but you will never taste, smell, enjoy, or be filled up from any of them just because I said the letters, or the words.
The same is true of quoting scriptures, when you don’t know what they mean; this is also called vain and profane babbling. With a Word from The Lord, a sinner can receive Salvation, even in Sunday school! Without receiving “The Spirit of The Word”, we become limited to our own reasoning, and start voicing our opinions based on what our limited minds may think God means!
The Spirit of The Word of God is not just described as The Holy Ghost himself; it is the mind of God the Father, breathed into your understanding, by what is known as The Inspiration of The Holy Ghost! Armed with this revelation, prayerfully your heart and soul are prepared to absorb the formula that will take you through the door, and into the kingdom knowledge, that I know God has been waiting for you to have.
