Four and half years ago my mother dropped me off at Southern Oregon University to start my collegiate football career. And went straight to a bar.
Right off East Main Street, The Red Zone is nestled into a culture with a unique love for the performing arts. Ashland is home to the World renowned Shakespeare festival bringing thousands of tourists in every year. There are not many sports bars in Ashland and this place gives sports lovers a great environment to watch their favorite teams on TV.
I have been dining at the Red Zone for two years now and I have not had a bad experience, or bad food yet. Their wait staff is always friendly, welcoming, and professional. Red Zone’s menu focuses on wraps, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and amazing choices for appetizers. The Red Zone Nacho is my favorite appetizers because which is made with their pulled pork and all of the nacho fixings. The Tri-Tip Dip is to die for with its thinly sliced tri-tip meat with caramelized onions atop a hoagie roll and served with Au Jus.
The restaurant is equipped with a full bar and a draft list that has something for everybody. I recommend their Red Zone IPA for all IPA enthusiasts.
The Red Zone is also a great place to watch SOU athletics. Anytime there are big games they stream games so Raider fans have a place to watch together. My affiliation with the University automatically made me a fan before I turned 21. When I finally was able to dine at the Red Zone I saw why my mom had such high praises.
