Panning, The Time Saver

If you want to achieve a nice wide mix that is full, minimizes EQ moves, compression, and countless hours of throwing everything in stereo only for the mix to fall apart when it’s in mono, master the art of Panning.

General rules:

Center (bass,snare,kick,lead vocals)

Things that could be panned?

(Background vocals, keys,guitars,shakers,claps,Sax,etc)

Balance the sounds, if a piano is panned to the left, pan the organ to the other side. It will create balance

Keeping things simple will allow you to move quickly and allow your mixes comes to life much faster.
