TOHacks 2022 — Toronto’s foremost hackathon will be closing applications on May 23rd.
Now is the time to register for a chance to win some cool Apple swag, an opportunity to build a wicked awesome solution and a guarantee to learn something new.
Leading up to the hackathon (May 24th — 27th), we’ve got several workshops and activities dabbling in new tech and topics dubbed Hype Week. Who said that developers were boring sticks in the mud?
All of this builds up towards the grand finale — the TOHacks 2022 hackathon happening on the last weekend of May (28th-29th). Dive into 24 hours of coding mayhem and even more workshops as you develop an award-winning project.
Putting the HACK in Hype Week
From May 24th to May 27th, TOHacks will be hosting several virtual and in-person events covering the entire development stack. From front-end development to middle-ware/data to back-end and beyond, our workshops will teach you the essentials needed to kick start your career.
We’ve got a variety of presenters including students, industry professionals and our lovely sponsors. Shout-outs to Genesys, Capital One, Deloitte, Scotiabank, Cockroach Labs, and the rest of our friends in the hacker space ❤
Think you fall into one of these categories and have an unparalleled passion to speak your mind about some technology? Go ahead and fill out our Presenter Application, we’d love to have you on-board.
We would also love to see you attend our virtual and in-person events during Hype Week at both Toronto and Waterloo. This is the perfect opportunity to network and form teams for the hackathon!
Invites will be sent on a rolling basis. Bookmarking the event on the Applicant Dashboard does not guarantee access. Bookmarking and not cancelling at least 24 hours before the start time will result in you not being eligible for other meet-ups or any raffle prize.

TOHacks 2022 Hackathon Weekend
TOHack 2022 is a digital-first hybrid hackathon — meaning that communications, mentorship and judging will be digital. We’ll have a dedicated on-site location for participants to meet, and greet with their teams and the awesome TOHacks crew.
Your day will start off with opening remarks at 11 AM and then it’s off to hacking at 12 PM EDT on Saturday.
If you need a breather (or, some inspiration!) we’ll be holding several workshops throughout Saturday afternoon.
Otherwise, it’s pretty much non-stop spaghetti coding until Sunday, 12:00 PM EDT where we’ll have a power hour to support project submissions.
The rest of the afternoon is judging, followed by some fun activities with our crew and closing remarks + project winners.

Applications for TOHack’s mentors and judges are now open!
Mentors:
- Provide insight, knowledge, and experience to the competitors.
- Give constructive advice by helping participants manage their goals/expectations.
- Connect with new people, expand your knowledge, and have a fun experience!
Judges:
- Provide objective, unbiased insight and evaluation of the assigned projects.
- Present a positive and encouraging demeanour to the teams.
