Bernie: This rant is plagued by an assortment of false generalizations that show a lack of knowledge about recent history. No wars — damn, Bernie, our nation has been constantly waging war since the beginning of WWII, if not overtly then covertly — see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_the_United_States
You could say we were relatively untouched by war, but then the family members of 33,000 and 58,000 deceased soldiers in Korea and Vietnam, and hundreds of thousands more who were casualties would probably disagree with you.
As one responder noted, “we” weren’t in charge then but millions of us did march to protest our involvement when we were old enough.
As another noted, the age-related problems are more closely associated with our own parents. Most of us have not yet succumbed to the ailments you describe. And the online scammers aren’t targeting an age group but anyone who is gullible enough to believe them.
What’s your problem, Bernie? Do you hate your parents? Can you really blame a generation for the problems our nation is facing?
It’s more of a class thing — very few of us are part of the 1 percent, but that goes for all age groups. Most of us were not part of the materialistic “yuppy” generation that was fed on the tripe of Reaganomics, which has led to the morass of the wealth divide, the bolstering of the military and intelligence agencies, and the raping of our environment and healthcare by the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Your criticism is directed at the wrong people and in the wrong place.
