As a woman of action in the UK and humanitarian here is an extract of her message to the people of Trinidad and Tobago -
Firstly Can l congratulate you on the celebrations of 172 years of Indian arrival in Trinidad. As an lndian myself and having worked with The commonwealth Countries League since a very young age l am proud to have been invited to send a message to a wonderful affectionate community who have contributed so much .
I was born and grew up in Nairobi Kenya and brought up to contribute to the communities we live in. I have now lived in the UK for over 40 yrs . It is my home and a place where all my family lives, where my children were born and have grown up with the same values. My life changed when l joined The Commonwealth Countries League recruited by the founder Alice Hemming and became Chairman of the organisation. Giving and sharing and making life better for other young people l developed a keen sense of Life's responsibilities.
My 34 yrs with The Conservative party l love has been life changing. Anything is possible as they say if you want it. I was welcomed into the party and became the First Asian woman Conservative Cllr in my Borough and the first as The deputy first citizen of Ealing borough in my Deputy Mayor's role. The values our party hold are dear to me and we can build on them to make it even stronger .
Nicholas Morris’s achievements are a testament in themselves and the passion and support of TT Conservatives is much valued. We can surely build on it.
I am so encouraged to read his statements and want you to know l will always be at hand to give any support required and look forward to meeting the community In Trinidad and look forward to welcoming any member of the community .
Very best wishes
Cllr Seema Kumar
