We like to share

(pssst, that means a FREE ticket to Elevate AND a trip to New York City)

It’s no secret that TWG is known for sharing. Whether it’s sharing our knowledge of product development, rapid prototyping or user experience design, or sharing our community space with start-ups, scaleups or innovation experts, we like everyone to get involved in the tech ecosystem.

That’s why we’re giving away a ticket to Elevate this year. Yup. Giving it away. All you need to do is sign up here by September 18.

But we’re not stopping there. TWG is also part of the New York Fintech ecosystem where we have incredible relationships with venture capitalists. Interested in having coffee in New York with a VC? TWG can make that happen — and we’ll pay for your airfare and accommodations as well! Come see us at the Elevate Fintech Track at the Telus Event Space (25 York Street) and enter for your chance to win… or enter here!

Fintech is our thing

One of the best things about Elevate is the incredible information exchange that happens at Elevate Educate. We are excited about being Interac’s co-creation partner for the Fintech Track alongside our community partner MaRS. We’re also excited about our own Chris Eben and Wealthsimple’s COO Brett Huneycutt leading off the day with a fireside chat about disruption in the wealth management space.

Fintech startups are transforming financial services by creating new and innovative solutions for consumers to spend, save and invest. Disruption is now being driven collaboratively between Fintechs and banks. Fintechs possess the agility and cutting-edge tech capabilities that enable banks to continue to drive a wide range of digital financial services in a secure and trusted manner to the masses, while banks offer the stability, security and access to a large customer base for fintech ventures to grow. Together, they will deliver the next generation of financial products and services that will continue to push Canada’s Fintech innovation profile globally.

Be sure to join us at the Telus Event Space on September 26th for an incredible lineup of Fintech experts.

Elevating talent at NewCo

Elevate’s NewCo is all about learning, connecting and celebrating the organizations changing the world. And at TWG, it’s our mission to transform the way organizations design, develop and utilize software to achieve their missions.

As a part of NewCo we’ll be opening our doors at 4:30 pm on Thursday, September 27 to present two live case studies of products we’ve worked on over the summer. Hosted by TWG’s VP of Product Tom Walsham, we’ll kick off with Product Manager Neha Thanki. Neha led TWG’s development of UpSkill, part of RBC’s Future Launch program which prepares today’s youth for the evolving jobs of tomorrow. Neha and Andrea March, Senior Manager, Corporate Citizenship at RBC, will discuss the impact of automation, the changing reality of how youth acquire technical skills, and how these factors shaped the development of Upskill.

We’ll follow up with Product Manager Matthew Lam, who led TWG’s design and validation of Credit Coach, a new feature within the Borrowell application that provides users with personalized insights on how to improve their credit score. Matthew and Simon Wyse, Director of Product at Borrowell, will explore the process of user research validation, and how the synthesis of these insights impacted the various design iterations of Credit Coach.

Tickets for this event are going fast, so secure your spot to avoid disappointment!
