Pick n Pay Sold Me on Fresh Living Magazine

Fresh Living food magazine catalogue

Have you ever held the Fresh Living food magazine?

Oh, you have?

It’s nice isn’t it?

It’s fresh, colourful, easy to read and looks tasty too. From a design perspective, I love it. It’s actually the only magazine I make sure I get a copy of.

I just love the way they choose their font and colours. They pop out and make reading easy. The borders and underlined headings are eye-catching. The yellow highlight they use on some text inspired me to do the same thing, this past Sunday — on a web design project I was working on.

A visual treat

It is really easy on the eyes. A visual treat, indeed.

Speaking about treats. The mag is packed with a lot of them. Of course. It’s from Pick n Pay, after all.

But to be honest, I never read it (not in its entirety). Nah, it’s not for me. I might shop and admire PnP as a company and brand. But I don’t cook or bake. At least, the type of food shown in the mag.

The food

I just grab it for inspiration, editorial copy and design ideas. I like the editor too. She seems nice and writes well. I think she handles most of the copy.

Anyway, if you haven’t paged through the magazine, you can grab it anytime you’re at Pick n Pay. It’s called Fresh Living. It’s usually by the tills or kiosk, every month.

It’s R25 but you can get it free with a Pick n Pay Smart Shopper card (which is also free).

You should try it and see if you’ll get what I’m raving about.
