The Clinton campaign’s stated policy goals are horrible for women, but the phrase “Hillary Harpies” still leaves a really bad taste of misogyny no matter how you contextualize it. It’s much better to point out that “Clinton Bros” exist just as much as “Sanders Bros” do, and due to their pseudonymous methods their true numbers are impossible to quantify. They’re all neanderthal idiots for their own reasons, and all better ignored than emboldened in the cynical and lopsided way that Clinton campaign surrogates are seeking. It’s really sad that Elizabeth Warren isn’t running, because her presence in the race would make the anti-feminism of the Clinton campaign so starkly obvious to even the most pessimistic “Republican realist centrist” anti-progressive.
I wasn’t defending terrible behavior, but I understand why it seemed that way.
