13 years after his partner Jess Cooper’s (Julia Roberts) daughter’s body is found in a dumpster, FBI investigator Ray Kasten (Chiwetel Ejiofor) finds a lead that could re-open the case and put the murderer away for good.

The movie flashes back and forth between the present and back to when the body was discovered 13 years ago. They only let you know one time in the beginning of the flashback so you have to pay attention to details to know what time the scene takes place in. I think that really helps keep you engaged in the movie.

Excellent acting from Julia Roberts. The scene where she sees her daughters body was so gut wrenching. Also in the movie, Nicole Kidman as the assistant district attorney. There’s so much sexual tension in the scenes between her and detective Kasten. They have a great interrogation scene together.

There were a couple things I had issues with, mostly having to do with detective Kasten’s approaches to the suspect. And also the baseball game scene.

Definitely a movie worth checking out. I wouldn’t say you should rush to go see it. It’s kind of like watching a tv movie, so you could Redbox it!
