Driving, Tea, Thai Transgenders, and Night Markets
If the Chinese were in NASCAR, they’ve already won.
Once you step into a Chinese car, cab, bus, van….. your in for a roller coaster ride because it feels like a you’re in a high speed chase. I mean, I don’t even think the police will stop you because EVERYONE drives like this. Its like once the car in front of you slows down, then you have to swerve to pass them, but then your going on the opposite road, and there’s cars coming at you, so then you gotta swerve back into the other road while passing the original car you want to pass. It’s pretty crazy.
Speaking of crazy, I went to this Thai performance thingy and so like, there was these girls that started singing, but something was strange about them. First, their legs were too muscular, and second, their arms were too muscular. Then, Eric turns to me and whispers, “that’s a guy.”
Wait what? A transgender Thai performer? I’m confused and I just facepalmed myself multiple times lol. Eric told me that when families in Thailand have no money, they send their kids to work in the performance acts. And apparently, Thailand likes girls more than guys so the guys have to become girls. The boys are trained from very young to learn how to be a girl, and it’s just stupid to me.
Alright besides the Thai transgenders, I got to try multiple types of tea. I’m not really a big fan of tea so I don’t really taste the difference in each tea other than some are more bitter than the other. One of the types of tea leaves were pretty interesting because when you put them back in the water, they grow into cute little green plants. So that was pretty interesting.
I also got the chance to eat at the night market. The night market was one of the many places I wanted to visit in China and it was pretty interesting. It felt like Diagon Alley from Harry Potter, the roads are like concrete blocks on the ground and there is shops to the left and to the right of you, If you were to go there, it is definitely worth the experience.
