( Part One)

A flower with red petals was rooted brilliant and alone in the middle of a dessert. Surrounding her for miles was cracked land. At a distance behind her draped the greenest mountain. The air crisp and gentle awoke her from the deepest sleep. The kind of sleep we all plants, animals, and humans have before we are born on Earth. The sleep the flower had been in provided a feeling of oneness and connection to everything. In awakening she felt lost and lonely. As she became acquainted with where she was rooted, the red flower knew her days would be few with no shade, water, and someone to talk to.
