TinT: So much DUST and FUN…
Just back from our last weekend safari. Although I showered even twice, I still feel soooo dirty and dusty….
This weekend was definitely a different experience compared to the previous two safaris:
On the first weekend we went to Lake Manyara NP — saw tons of birds and elephants so close —

and to Ngorongoro NP, saw the amazing crater, the big 5 and so many other of animals:

The second weekend we went glamping to Tarangire NP: Glambing = glamorous camping = nice camp with luxury fixed tents almost like hotel rooms with private bathroom. Tarangire has a very beautiful scenery with many big baobab trees and lots of elephants and giraffes.

We even saw a leapoard and two lions with their kill (bullafo):

This weekend we went real camping (not glamping!) in Enduiment WMA (Wildlife Management Area) close to Kilimanjaro. I slightly stretched my comfort zone, as I am not really excited about camping and I also appreciate some distance to elephants, leopards….But it was so much fun!

More game drives… night game drive and even a bike game drive…beautiful sunset …camp fire.. goat barbecue:

We even visited a Boma (village) and got to know how the Massai live: Very traditional, very colorful, very poor. Not all what we have seen feels right for us, like the role of the women, circumcision, polygamy and kids taking care of the livestock instead of going to school….

I brought some toys from home and made so many kids happy…

Tom’s digger now on tour in Tanzania:

What a great dusty weekend!
