Interesting concepts. My assumption is that the impetus for leading, building companies or being a CEO is intrinsic or internal because external is fleeting and the “job” of building something can require long periods without extrinsic or external validation.

Second, yes, commitment is the key to forming and sustaining a habit. Combine the two (1) intrinsic motivation and a (2) set of positive commitments/habits, one can be pretty unstoppable.
