Thanks for the article. I wrote a similar critique of Peterson back in April. I guess the rush to embrace Peterson is a symptom of many classical liberals’ fear of the increasing influence of ‘Marxist’ ideas from the left, and his critique of neo-Marxism is one that many share. Of course, this does not mean he is the ideal liberal hero. Rather, the fact that liberals have turned to him is a wake-up call that we need to have our own culture, our own conversations, and our own icons (independent of both left and right).
By the way, I see no objective evidence that Peterson can be considered transphobic. He also had an interesting conversation with trans person Theryn Meyer in 2016, in which he was quite respectful.
