When I want to watch something on a streaming site, I’ll go there and discover something new to watch. That’s because I’m interested in spending my time on that. It’s more likely that I will click through to something.

In contrast, receiving various suggestions isn’t going to help me. Instead, it costs me extra time when going through my inbox. Just sum up the time that you spend on newsletters and think about it. You’ll realize that you lose time that you can spend on doing something that interests you.

It can sometimes happen that you find yourself with difficulties such as:

  • Weight loss plateaus
  • Unhealthy habits
  • Discomfort
  • Gaining weight

These can be confusing. However, there’s one crucial thing about them:

These are not signs that you have stopped losing weight.

Instead, these difficulties are signs that your human metabolism is working.

Human metabolism

In short:

  • You give resources such as air, water, and food to your body
  • Your body produces the energy it needs from these resources
  • The energy allows your body to work and maintain its temperature
  • Excess supplies are stored for later use or are leaving the body

That is where calories (a measure for energy) come into play. Daily, calories go in, and calories go out. It might seem that restricting calories would make you lose weight every single day. Well, it does, but not every day.
