10 Quotes That Will Show You How To Change Your Life

This doesn’t have to be you.

How To Change Your Life Starts Will What You Tell Yourself
Many of us wonder, how to change our life? Change is difficult. We know what. What are you willing to do to change your life? The question left then is, how to get started?

At different times in our life we put ourselves into stove pipes. Separate ourselves from others. And often feel like our struggle is different from theirs. Slowly we alienate ourselves. Sometimes not even realizing it. Telling ourselves, they wouldn’t understand.

The specific struggle may be an individual matter, but to struggle is something we all do. I find myself, at times, thinking famous people are lucky. How can they not be happy? They have it all. But that is where I stop myself. I know better.

Money and fame do not equal happiness. Honestly, there is zero correlation between the two. In fact, it probably adds to the mountain of problems.
10 Quotes to Inspire Your Life
1. John Green
“I take medication daily and have for many years. I also try to exercise a lot, because there’s some evidence that exercise lessens the symptoms of anxiety, and I try to use the strategies that I’ve learned in cognitive behavioral therapy to cope with my illness. But it’s a chronic illness and it hasn’t, like, gone into remission or anything for me. It’s something I live with, something that I’ve integrated into my life. And we all have to integrate stuff into our lives, whether it’s a mental illness or physical disability or whatever. There is hope. There is treatment. You are not alone, and while I know the struggle feels at times completely hopeless and futile, there is a far shore for the vast majority of people, and I wish you the best.”
2. Kerry Washington
“My brain and my heart are really important to me. I don’t know why I wouldn’t seek help to have those things be as healthy as my teeth. I go to the dentist. So why wouldn’t I got to a shrink?”
3. J.K. Rowling
“Depression isn’t just being sad. It’s feeling nothing. It’s not wanting to be alive anymore.”
4. Parker Posey
“I can do comedy, so people want me to do that, but the other side of comedy is depression. Deep, deep, depression is the flip side of comedy. Casting agents don’t realize it but in order to be funny you have to have that other side.”
5. Robin Williams
“All it takes is a beautiful fake smile to hide an injured soul and they will never notice how broken you really are.”
6. Demi Lovato
“It’s my mission to share this with the world and to let them know that there is life of the other side of those dark times that seem so hopeless and helpless. I want to show the world that there is life — surprising, wonderful and unexpected life after diagnosis.”
7. Troian Bellisario
“[Seventeen Magazine] asked me what I was like when I was 17 and I wasn’t going to say, ‘I was great!’ because I wasn’t. I was suffering from a mental disorder. But what I so often find is that it becomes about the facts. ‘How much weight did you lose? How were you treated? Where you hospitalized?’ And that’s not important to me. What is important is to talk about the feelings, to talk about the help that young girls, and young men, who have this problem can get if they find that they are suffering.”
8. Lady Gaga
“I learned that my sadness never destroyed what was great about me. You just have to go back to that greatness, find that one little light that’s left. I’m lucky I found one little glimmer stored away.”

9. Fiona Apple

“When you’re surrounded by all these people, it can be lonelier than when you are by yourself. You can be in a huge crowd, but if you don’t feel like you can trust anyone or talk to anybody, you feel like you’re really alone.”

10. Kristen Bell
“The most effective way to experience growth is through self-pardon.”

Life is … Personal
Each quote means something to me. At various times I have been happy, or completely unable to get my life together. Robin Williams said it perfectly, “A gigantic fake smile and no one thinks anything is wrong.” Throw on some sarcasm and the office hero is born. And why not? Everyone loves to laugh. Parker Posey’s quote sums up my entire life. Hurt is every bit of comedy. At least for me. The ability to make someone laugh, doesn’t make a happy person. I’m all too familiar.

As part of society we share this great misrepresentation of happiness. If someone laughs, automatically they are happy. By contrast, someone who doesn’t act like an office bozo is labeled boring. Society has a need to label people. It is utter madness. I can only base it on my life, but quite the opposite is true.

Everyone Struggles
No matter what stage of life you find yourself remember, we all struggle. It’s what we do with the struggle that counts. Life isn’t easy. It certainly isn’t fair. The truth is we control nothing but our actions. Once the injustice in the world is in our purview, it’s hard to care. It’s even harder to do the right thing. I ask that you try.

Try today to start a better tomorrow. What are you willing to do to change your life?

Think of the road ahead of you as one day. Don’t even consider the destination. That has no place in your journey right now.

Forget yesterday, or what could have been done. It doesn’t matter. It’s gone. Today counts. Find just one thing, even if it’s small. A simple thing you can change today. Force yourself to say hello to a stranger. Call an old friend. Something little that takes you out of your comfort zone. When you are comfortable again, add another task.

There is no need to concur fear, anxiety, anger or anything else in one day. Take it from me, it doesn’t work anyway. Like a diet, it leaves you frustrated and empty. Life change comes in small obstacles and manageable steps.

You are here for a reason. Never forget that. You have a purpose in this world.

The question is, what are you willing to do to change your life?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
