So true I was addicted to heroin in LA in late 70s & 80s and felt the effects of law enforcement for being nothing more than an addict, no offer of help or rehab it was stop doing it or go to jail. The kid I grew up with since 5 years old got 25 to life with CA three strike rule for petty drug charges and the final was a petty theft conviction for 3rd strike.Game set match his life ended and the biggest problem was he had a drug problem that never even got addressed. Yes I agree the problem does not get attention till if reaches the upper class and then that’s who will get the help not the people who don’t have insurance and need help the most.
