Introduction to Stories Behind My Photos

One of the most interesting things to read about photography is the story behind a photo. It is possible to learn a lot about the story of well-known photos from famous photographers, not only online but also in books and even on YouTube. But sadly you seldom see the stories behind lesser known photos. People rarely write about their own photos, me included. Even though these stories and the choices that were made are fascinating and very educational. So I have decided to start writing about my own photographs. In this serie of blog posts, called Stories Behind My Photos, I will write about the photos from my own portfolio. About the choices that I had to make, why I even made that photograph, but also why I edited the photo in a certain way. And by writing about this I hope to learn more about my own photos, so I can improve myself even further. And I hope that you can learn something too!

The goal of this serie

My goal is to write blog posts that are not too long and easy to read. Which are educational for people who already have basic knowledge about photography and are wondering how other people make photos. This means that I won’t explain basic photography principles, like the rule of thirds or under and overexposure etc. I won’t commit to a timetable for this serie. Since I started this blog I underestimated the time it takes to write blog posts. I expect that the more I write the quicker it will go, or at least I hope so. But I won’t rush these blog posts because I believe in quality over quantity.

I will update this post with a list of all the blog posts in the Stories Behind My Photos Serie.
