Reminds me of all the backlash that the show GIRLS received because it’s lack of diversity of cast members. Some people couldn’t understand how a show set in NYC didn’t have a diverse cast. I would agree, that the show is the reflection of a young gentrified BK white woman's life. It is probably very real for her (Hannah) not to have black friends, lovers, or even coworkers. NYC is not the big melting pot we all like to think it is. enjoyed this read.
