A Blog By Any Other Name, Would Not Be As Sweet.
Those closest to me know that this blog has been in the works for several months now and I’m super pleased to finally unveil it. My sole reason for waiting, was that I couldn’t find a name that was representative of the content I wanted displayed on my blog. And then, it hit me. One Tuesday night, on a rare occasion that I wasn’t showing off my tone deaf skills in the shower, (why is it that life’s great mysteries always unveil themselves there?) “I’ll call it Tea Time!” I’ll admit that at first I was just playing around with my initials (T.E.A are my last, first, and middle initials respectively) but the more and more I thought about it, the more I liked everything that tea time could stand for. (It wasn’t until later that I begrudgingly realized that Ellen may have beat me to the punch with the name for those high pitched little girls, but at that point I was set on my name.) For me, tea time stands for the conversations I’m going to share through this blog much like the kind one has with an old friend over a warm beverage at Starbucks. And I imagine you, dear reader, casually sipping a tea of your choice as you read this; praying you’ll have at least one spit-take from guffawing over one of my clever jokes or anecdotes. Tea time also means teeing off (you know how all those fancy golfers say, “We tee off at noon”) because let’s face it, I’m bound to start some shit and hopefully get the ball rolling (pun intended) on some interesting topics. Tea time will cover things that are my cup of tea and things that are not up to snuff. But most importantly, tea time represents all my thoughts and feelings that go left unsaid during my everyday interactions that make me respond “sips tea.” Hopefully, you all know the meme I’m referring to, but in case you’ve been living under a rock I’ve gotten you up to speed with the pic above. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy Tea Time. But if I’m honest, I probably won’t care if you don’t either ;)
