Mayku FormBox Production Update 23/05/2017
Note: this is a copy of our Kickstarter update from May for all of those people who have preordered a machine but have not received production updates in their inbox.
We’ve been working flat out to solve the four issues we mentioned in the last update: seals, suction force, tray flex and hole density. The good news is that we think we’ve finally cracked it. We had to build another final prototype which will be delivered in two weeks. The whole studio is raring to take it for a spin — once we’ve confirmed that it’s running smoothly, we’ll push forward and get a solid production schedule to you. We want to thank you all so much for your patience and for helping us to build a vastly superior machine. We can’t wait to show you the new design (as soon as our design rights come through!).
Yep, we’ve been at it again. This time we’ve been exploring how you can build you own worlds with the FormBox and a 3D printer. Check it out here.
We thought you might like a bit of context as to what goes into shipping the FormBox to all you lovely backers!
We’re currently in the final stages of negotiating with various region specific fulfilment centres from around the world who’ll be tasked with ensuring you receive your machine on time when it ships — it’s a big job! To help us navigate through these complex waters our resident fulfilment expert Billie generated the above heat map to help us visualize where all our first customers are. It’s great to see so many people from around the world getting behind the desktop manufacturing movement.
Thank you so much for your support, we really appreciate it!
As always — if you have any questions feel free to give us a shout.
All the best,
Ben, Alex and the Mayku team.
