“Getting a private security firm up and running is easy. Managing officers and maintaining client relationships is the hard part.”
— Jesse Marks, Hawklight Security (Owner)

In an industry plagued with abnormally high turnover among officers and clients, what actions are you taking to increase employee productivity and client satisfaction? Here are 3 convincing reasons to start using Radar today.

  1. You use paper for reporting
A great way to measure the performance of your officers is through the process of auditing their daily activity reports. A horrible way of going about it is with paper.
Typical paper daily activity report

Why?

It’s expensive. According to the Gartner Group, office printing takes up to 3% of a company’s annual revenue. This includes costs that we often tend to forget: purchasing and printing paper, printing equipment, distribution, filing supplies and cabinets, storage space, and time spent storing and managing reports.

The delays. In a survey Radar conducted in January of 2016, we found that 86% of security professionals mentioned it took up to 4 weeks before reports were sent in for review. This causes two problems: 1) If a client requests to view a report, you aren’t able to provide it instantly and 2) the longer the delay to review reports, the further the divide between you and your officers.

2. You use email for reporting
Initially, email might seem to be a great alternative to paper. But it doesn’t take long before this approach begins to show its limitations.

Email Reporting = Chaotic Reporting

Why?

It’s chaotic. If you are currently using email to handle reporting, you might be aware of what we mean by chaotic. It’s a daunting task trying to manage, review and respond to reports while your inbox is bombarded with emails. And it doesn’t make it any easier when your officers send in reports all with differing headlines and formatting depending on their preference.

Security risks. Securing reports are a high priority. Officers and supervisors take strict precautions and abide by standard operating procedures when storing & managing reports. Did you know that using traditional email for reporting on unprotected devices is a major security threat that can hold your security business negligent?

3. You stress over your officers whereabouts
Of the hundreds of conversations we have had with security professionals, this has to be the concern we have heard most often:

“There is no easy way for me to confirm my officer is at their post.”

One option we have seen is having a dedicated body to make random visits to sites. Although this can keep officers on their toes, this method may increase overhead and take time away from other important tasks.

There’s a better way. Trust us.

Another preventative method we have seen is the distribution of walkie talkie’s. Although they are good at allowing you to stay in communication with officers, they are bad at guaranteeing managers a peace of mind in terms of their officer’s attendance.

Enter, Radar.

Radar allows officers to send reports via a free and secure mobile application and provides management the ability to measure officer accountability with realtime GPS activity. All reports are secured in one place, ensuring easy auditing and forwarding to clients.
