The process is pretty tough especially when you are not using a standard antivirus program and also the results will be 50% or less efficient in the manual virus removal process. Check out these tips to eliminate at least a fraction of the total viruses affecting your system.

TIP 1

Well before initiating any talk regarding a virus solution, it is important to understand the risks. Prevention is always better than cure and hence you need to avoid the multiple pen drive/flash drive connection with your device or system. If you got a Microsoft Windows OS then there is an inbuilt virus detecting software that will notify you about the suspicious malware. Do not install too many programs from different program providers. Trust the recognized service providers only. Turn off the USB autorun feature as this will give you a chance to avoid the hidden viruses if any. Use trusted suppliers and download the web filter extensions of the browser that you generally use if the browser has any.

TIP 2

Usually, different viruses acquire a special name or extension with their name like .exe, .inf etc. It is not necessary that such extension containing programs are always viruses as ‘.exe’ remains with every application. Delete or try to delete the suspicious files with weird names. Whenever some shortcut is seen inside a folder with the same name of the folder, try to delete that shortcut. Find and delete the dodgy hidden files inside every folder.

TIP 3

Try disk cleanup process once after every browsing session. Disk cleanup process removes most of the unnecessary junks and temporary from the system.

TIP 4

Open Task Manager, click on New Task option, write %temp% and click ‘ok’. A list will pop up. Select all of them and delete. These are the temporary files that you can also delete by disk cleanup process. You can also write ‘msconfig’ in the New Task that will take you to the list of running services. You can stop any unnecessary service that you are finding suspicious.

TIP 5

If you have already found a suspicious file then go to its original location by typing cmd in the command prompt. Now enter after writing cmd. A black window will appear and there you need to write the code of the drive in which your suspicious file is located (:c or :d or :e etc.). Now by typing attrib –h-s-r “virus file name”, you will be able to change its attribute. After this, simply type del “virus file name” and bingo! Your file has been successfully deleted.

These methods can be used to remove a small amount of and weak viruses. Substantial and latest viruses are very tough to remove and even a reputed antivirus program fails to do so. However, you can try this method frequently to avoid the storage of more suspected files.
