WhatsApp, the instant messaging app released in January 2010 for the first time has become a huge hit. Six years after its inception WhatsApp is currently the most popular instant messaging application with a user base of one billion. Seeing the great opportunity with WhatsApp, Facebook acquired WhatsApp in 2014 for a whooping 19.3 billion US Dollars. In 2014 WhatsApp introduced the read receipts option which lets you know whether the recipient has read your message or not. A blue tick on the message you sent shows that the recipient has read your message. There is also an update enabling users to disable this facility.
Another related update was the addition of info option to know who all read your messages in a group. Keep holding on the particular message you want to check, will get you the info option.
