G-Mail’s Auto-Complete Malfunction- a Disaster

Google’s G-Mail
Sending e-mails to the wrong person is definitely a very embarrassing thing to do. That too in a professional context it is pretty much an awkward situation. This could accidentally let out confidential information. Not only professionally but you could intend to let out information to someone who is not ready to hear it.
All G-Mail users have been hit by a bug in the auto-complete feature. The bug is sending mails to wrong contacts!
Just before you are about to press that send button on G-mail after you have composed a mail make sure you have the right person’s address in the recipient’s field. The bug is causing chaos and changing the address in the To field.
Auto-complete typically helps to locate e-mails or other content based information. A drop down menu will be displayed that will offer you other related information. Auto-complete is typically word completion that automatically predicts the rest of the word that is being typed by the user. There are many auto-complete algorithms that are capable of suggesting alternatives that are based on the practices of the user.

G-Mail’s Auto-Complete
The following search areas are offered by G-Mail’s Auto-complete:
Search all Mail Search all Label Search the Entire Web Search E-mails from specific E-mail address
Auto-Complete Intention
Auto-complete in e-mails are mainly intended to fill in the e-mail addresses for intended recipients.
Auto-compete feature of G-Mail inserts the names of people in the To field to whom ever the user has mailed frequently. But this new bug seems to be putting in priority the contacts that have been less frequently used. Fred Wilson of New York first reported the problem when he began getting a bunch of e-mails that were not meant for him. But people began complaining all about it all over.
How does Auto-complete Benefit Users?
The auto-complete improves search and speeds up the search time to easily fetch data that you are looking for. Auto complete speeds up the human to computer interactions when it correctly finds out the rest of the word that is being typed. This works best in the scenario when a limited number of common words, such as the recipient field in e-mails are used.
G-Mail’s Response to the Bug
When G-Mail was contacted the Spokesperson confirmed that are a lethal issue with the auto-complete. Investigations are going on and they are very much aware of the bug. They regretted the inconvenience caused and said they would look into the issue as soon as possible.
