At the tip of its tenth anniversary Google has now released a YouTube app specifically for tiny tots. They can watch videos on their own and browse things of their choice.

Google launched its YouTube Kids app for iOS and Android on Monday. The app is designed so that it keeps the kids away from popular video that are not meant for them. The popular video sharing site has filtered the contents wholly for the purpose of educating the kids. The videos are of shows, music and cartoons for kids to view.

There will not be any more oops moments for you now. Whenever you hand over you smart phone to your kid or your child accidentally taps a button only safe content will be found.

Each of the categories can be accessed separately by clicking on the icon dedicated to it. The icon lies on the top part of the screen. Or you can choose to simply scroll through the thumbnails of the video and select your choice. Shows from National Geographic Kids and all time children’s favourite Yo Gabba Gabba are featured in the YouTube kids. The YouTube controls and the icons are there just like the other versions. There is also a hidden section of the app for the parents.

On all the screens in the YouTube Kids app there will be a transparent lock at the lower right corner of the application. On tapping over the lock, there will be a prompt. Four numbers are needed to be entered correctly before there is access to that page. Once the numbers have been correctly entered the app can be refined a bit more. There lies an option to Set a Timer ranging from one to hundred and twenty minutes. Whenever the timer expires a friendly picture will emerge letting you kid know that time is out!

The Settings screen is hidden in the section. The option to disable background music from playing while browsing content on the web. The sound effects of the video can also be disabled so that you child can easily swipe across the app. The Search feature of YouTube Kids can be disabled so that your child can view and gain access only to what has been legalised by Google.

The YouTube Kids app is also a joy for adults. The most notable element is the audio. The animation is also an important element to be taken note of. The icons pop up on tapping them gracefully. YouTube Kids is now a resource to answer all the questions that run through your kid’s mind.
