The search engine giant has hired 4Chan’s founder to bring better days to the company’s social network division.

Google Inc. has tried numerous times to enter the social networking market however it has never managed to surpass the social media giant, Facebook Inc.

After the letdown of Google+, the technology company has decided to hire the founder of a much controversial online community by the name of 4Chan, Chris Poole. He will be hired to work with the Vice President of Google Photos and Streams, Mr. Bradley Horowitz.

Last year, Google+ split into a separate division on which the new hire will be working on along with Mr. Horowitz in an effort to revive the search engine giant’s networking site in a battle to dethrone Facebook — or in this case, even come close to its success.

The new hire Chris Poole is the founder of 4Chan, an online popular discussion platform which was operational for over 11 years. 4Chan gained much popularity in the given time and become one of the trendiest platforms for online dialogue however, despite the fact that it would have been quite an appropriate platform for freedom of speech, like always; it took a drastic turn into a hateful, abusive and negative platform where nude pictures of celebrities would be showcased and hacked into.

Despite the fact that it became one of the biggest website on the internet the founder failed to make a single penny off of it instead he made money from other startups that include DrawQuest. For a while, Mr. Poole used these startups to pay his bills but last year he failed to continue the momentum and decided to step of out this whirlpool. He sold the company and now will be working for Google.

In a blog post on March 8, 2016 Mr. Poole mentioned how excited he was to be joining google and stated how impressed he was by the ‘passion, intelligence and enthusiasm’ of Googlers. He further stated that its time that he starts the ‘next chapter’ of his life and there couldn’t be a more perfect to do so.

Presently, the search engine company has not given any specifications regarding the latest hire but at this point we know that he will be working on the social platform. For a while now, the company was working on building a rival for Facebook, however that was a failed attempt at doing so, now it is working towards building something which is focused more on consumer interests and communities, for instance Pinterest.

At this point in time, it is tremendously difficult task for any company to tackle Facebook who is leader in the social networking world. It managed to force a number of other social networking sites out of business as well including Orkut, Flickr and also Google+.
