Google’s AdMob Bug Affecting Affecting Windows Phone Has Been Fixed

Google AdMob bug has effected many developers with their ad revenue dropping the ad fill rate from 99 to 7 percent in one of the cases.

Latest Google news is regarding the problem that had led to the app developers for Windows Phone experience the declining ad revenue being coming from AdMob ad network by Google. This issue has recently been resolved by the search engine giant. In this week, there had been a news which stated that couple of Windows Phone developers had experienced the rated filled with ad a drop by the major amount during the entire month which has effected the ability for these developers to generate the revenue using ads by Google in their relative apps.

One of the developers had reported that the ad fil rated had shot down from 99 percent to only 7 percent only within a day while the other developer expressed that the revenue had been down by approximately 80 percent.

The developers had been discussing issue on the forum for Google Mobile Ads which is hosted by the Google Groups and later those posts had been picked by the WMPoweruser.com, a blog. That website has further alleged this change by stating that it could be related to the company “getting ready to starve Windows Phone developers into submission.” (As stated by them)

This suspicions coming from the blog had been related to the latest news that Microsoft had been planning to roll out the new tools that shall let the developers port the Android apps developed by them on Windows 10. However it turns out that it was merely a bug. Google news reports that the account by Google AdMob had tweeted following the coverage of this news that it had been known to of “fill rate issues for Windows Phone” and also had been “actively investigating and working to fix this.”

The fix has now gone live. The search engine giant has notified that the bug has been fixed now and the issues which had led to ad fill rate drop so significantly have now been resolved and it expects the things to return to normal now.

Many of the reported developers had expressed that the complaints had been submitted by them to AdMob support and were expecting to hear from them since a week, in some of the mentioned cases. Several developers had also gone for tweeting to them directly out of frustration but the AdMob had not responded to them until the various reports were generated and were made live.

However, it’s unfortunate for the developers that have been effected that the responses were so delayed. They have lost some of the ad revenue portion due to this. Also, the search engine giant has not given out the details as to what indicted the bug.
