Blockchain specialists in Russia. Are there any?
Blockchain is to be in Russia. We believe that. The technology application, even in the test mode, in the oil and gas industry (and not only) has already shown its efficiency.
However, there is another important question today: are there any blockchain specialists in the country? And, if so, where do they get knowledge from? That’s what we managed to find out.
Today, financial institutions, global banks, consulting companies, technology start-ups – everyone is looking for blockchain specialists.
Indeed, the true specialist should not just know something about crypto currencies and blockchain technology by hearsay, but should master a set of knowledge that can be practically applied.
Foreign universities are already trying to develop special training programs, while we have only little courses.
So, the Plekhanov RGU, in cooperation with CHHolding, decided to change the situation by developing their author course «Blockchain 2.0", which is focused on the academic training of new personnel in this field.
The Higher School of Economics offers professional development program of the Faculty of Computer Science: Creating projects on popular blockchain platforms and blockchain technology implementation in companies.
There are also some professional skills trainings, focusing on blockchain and cryptocurrencies. For example, Open Education, where all university courses are collected, offers the «Internet relations legal regulation « (St. Petersburg State University) course.
The Higher School of Economics, Moscow State University, and other major universities have also announced the qualification classes, scientific interest, and research in this field.
The sudden demand for such relatively new technology (younger than ten years) faces a huge obstacle – the lack of human reserves. At the same time, the number of vacancies has increased by three in 2017 and will only keep growing. So it is quite obvious, that there will be special blockchain programs or, probably, even the whole departments, in the universities.
