Which Is Better? Digital Signage or Traditional Print?

It’s a question which is always asked when it comes to advertising. Should you go for a digital solution or stick with the traditional print?

We decided to research the benefits and drawbacks of each and see which one comes out on top.

Price

For small-scale promotion for a smaller sized business, print may be the cheaper option. However, digital allows for multiple promotions to be rolled out straight after one another so it’s like having posters going out in a row. So it needs to be asked, which is the more cost effective option for that particular business?

How easy it is to use

Posters are much easier to put up but it takes a lot of time! There’s designing and printing them. Which also means more is spent! Digital signage, on the other hand, can be updated and changed in a matter of minutes. This is a much better option for those that want to promote a campaign that is changing regularly.

Adaptation

Does your business need a solution that is long term and needs to adapted to get the best results? For a one-off promotion, posters have a big impact but have a limited life. Once they’re used, that’s it. Digital signage can be adapted and changed to see what results can be achieved.

Which comes out on top?

In conclusion, we have found that the print solution is great for one-off promotions that have a low budget. However, for long-running campaigns that need to be adapted, digital signage is a better solution. Also, there is a lot more that could be done with digital signage. Advertising can be more visual, more interactive and more informative.
