7 Podcasts to Try (While You Wait for Serial)

Okay, so yeah, I’m the guy who got into podcasts when someone told me about Serial. I listened voraciously and I still occasionally Google Adnan Syed to see what’s going on with the case. And the Bergdahl story has ended leaving me in a hole… what do I listen to now? Well, here are the 7 podcasts on my Galaxy… give them a try!

I prefer the Podcast Addict app, easy to operate!
  1. Coachseek — I’m a tennis instructor, so this is a new one for me with interviews by tennis coaches, writers, speakers etc. If you happen to be in that small subset of people, give this a listen. It’s new, so there are only a few episodes.
  2. Cokesbury Church — I found out that I can listen to my Pastor even when we don’t make it through the church doors! I cannot remember a time when I was so excited to listen to a message, but the leaders at this church are really, really good. If you’d like some inspiration, get it here.
  3. Daily Radio Program with Dr. Charles Stanley — This is the man who baptized me and I found out his messages were on podcasts so I listen daily. Maybe I’m overstating here, but I believe Dr. Stanley may become the next Billy Graham. Again, inspiration abounds here.
  4. Freakonomics Radio — I just added this one and I am really interested to dig in! Listening to the episode “How to Be More Productive” inspired this post actually! This is not really just a business podcast, there are articles about sleep, politics, restaurants, etc. If you have a small bent toward business and entrepreneurship, this one is a good one!
  5. Rainmaker FM Master Feed — This is almost like a bunch of podcasts rolled into one. If you’re an entrepreneur, this one is indispensable. Topics range from How to Write a Book to Running a Podcast to Building Your LinkedIn network. I dive into this one for more business insights on a regular basis.
  6. Serial — Okay, so here it is… waiting for new episodes. The ubiquitous podcast that really sent podcasts into the stratosphere. If you haven’t listened to it… this is a murder mystery from real life that will leave you wanting more. Evidence, clues, mystery, whodunit, all of that and more.
  7. TEDTalk Audio — You know TED Talks and what they are about. Industry Titans get 15–20 minutes on stage to talk about anything they think is important. I once heard that if they thought it was important, I should listen. This is your chance to hear from the leaders of everything.

So, just to be clear… I’m not a podcast expert… just a listener, a fan. And as a fan, I’d love to hear what you’re listening to — there’s plenty of room on my app for more!
