Axelar is a Proof-of-Stake cross-chain communication platform built on Tendermint. Axelar offers decentralized bridges between multiple blockchains and ecosystems. AXL is Axelar’s own utility token, which is used to power transactions on the Axelar Network. It can also be used for staking and decentralized governance.
In this guide, we will explain how to easily delegate $AXL to the Axelar validator via Keplr wallet!
Step 1: Create an account on Keplr Wallet
a) Go to this link and click the [Add] button
b) [Add “Keplr”] window will show off. Here you have to choose [Add Extension]
c) At the end of the download, you can start to interact with your browser extension by clicking on it.
d) A new tab will now open. Here you have the option “Create New Account” and click on it.
e) Time to claim your unique Mnemonic Seed and set your Keplr Wallet password!
- Make sure to copy and save your Mnemonic Seed at a save place
- Set a password you’re not using in any other application
f) Verify your Mnemonic seed by choosing them in the correct order.
g) Your Keplr Wallet is now ready!

Step 2: Deposit your $AXL to this wallet
a) Click on the Keplr icon on the top-right side of your window to open it.
b) Make sure [Axelar] is selected from the dropdown menu at the top.
c) Select [Deposit] and the wallet will show you the address and the associated QR code. Fund your account by sending the desired amount of $AXL to your Wallet Address.
d) Once you’ve sent AXL to your Keplr wallet, you will visualize the available balance.
Step 3: Stake your $AXL to a validator
a) Select [Stake] on Keplr, you will be redirected to the web version of the wallet.
b) Find Terminet Validator on this page and click on “ Manage”. Then click on “ Delegate” to continue.
c) In this new window, you will be asked to select the amount of AXL you want to delegate to that validator. Once you have entered this field, press [Delegate] again to continue.
d) The next screen is about the choice of the desired commission for the payment of the transaction on-chain. It is the same as before.
- If the details displayed match your requests, click [Approve] to complete the transaction.
