Happy National Coffee Day!

September 29 is set aside as National Coffee Day.

That means there are a great many of us enjoying this aromatic and pleasurable habit. How many of us enjoy a cup of delicious roast each day?

Did you know that 54% of Americans over the age of 18 drink coffee every day?

Americans drink an average of 3.1 cups of coffee per day and that average sized coffee cup is 9 ounces.

65% of Americans like their cup of java for Breakfast. 30% like to drink their coffee between meals. 5% like to enjoy a cup of coffee with lunch or dinner.

The U.S. spends 40 billion dollars on coffee each year! At the average price of $1.38 a cup for brewed coffee and $2.45 for espresso type coffees; that’s a lot of beans!

Enjoy your daily cup of coffee in moderation and skip the calorie-rich treats that often complement your coffee.

There is a downside of Coffee

While recent scientific studies have shown that coffee may have many healthy benefits, certain data suggests there may be harmful effects when consumed in excess.

Keep it healthy. Regular Coffee drinkers often consume fat and calorie-rich treats, such as cream, flavored syrups and sugar to complement their cup of java. It is also tempting to add high calorie, sugary pastries to enjoy with their coffee.

Coffee can be a delicious and healthy part of your morning if enjoyed in moderation. Be careful of those alluring ‘extras’ that can wreak havoc on your diet.

I care! All inquiries thoughtfully answered. — Terri
