Just How Effectively Are You Promoting Your Content?
I’m always talking about how important it is to promote your blog post on your social media channels once you’ve published it. Just slapping a blog post up on your site and hitting publish won’t be very effective if people don’t see your content. And they won’t see your content if they don’t know it’s there. Another great way to get more eyes on your stuff is to cross-post on sites like Triberr, and here on Medium.
Engagement is still very important, so yes, you do want to take a few minutes from time to time to share and comment on both sites for more interaction; but getting your content up on the sites doesn’t need to require a lot of extra work.
Triberr: With Triberr, you can simply add your blog’s RSS feed to your account and it will pull in your posts. For some reason mine would stop working after a while and I’d have to go into Triberr and update, so I installed the plugin on my blog and it works like a champ.
Medium: With Medium, you can either manually add your posts to the site, or install their plugin like I did so everything is pulled into the site when you hit publish on your blog. In a previous blog post I go into more detail about how I have it set up and why I chose to do it that way.
Medium and Triberr are just two additional resources you can take advantage of to get your content out in front of more people with minimal effort. And you never know who will see your content or where your next client will come from. Your post might just be seen by the right person at the right time.
What’s my favorite saying about getting more eyes on your content? Yup … you got it! “More eyes on your stuff = more visibility. More visibility = more clients!”
