Quick and Easy Video Apps to Get Your Message Out There!
With all the talk about video, and even audio, lately, here are some nifty little apps that make it super easy to add video to all aspects of your marketing strategy. And to make things even better … right now they are all free!
Loom: Loom is a cool browser extension that allows you to record videos quickly and easily. The tagline on their website is “It’s faster than typing!”
With Loom, you can record a video with just you (talking head) using the front-facing camera option, or record an open browser tab, or your entire desktop. Once your video is done, you can grab the link to the video and send it to whomever you want or post it wherever you want. Great for quickie videos to send a message to someone, or for instructional videos. I’ve been using Jing (by the makers of Snagit and Camtasia) to record instructional videos for clients and team members, but I can see Loom as a strong contender in the future. I learned about this nifty little app when a friend of mine broke a couple of bones in her hand. She wasn’t able to type easily, so she used Loom to communicate with people. It’s very cool and easy to use.
Lumen: Lumen is an awesome web-based app for content marketing that let’s you easily turn blog posts and news articles into videos. Not the talking head version we usually think of when we think video, but more image-based with text and music. It’s a great way to promote your blog posts through video. It might take a little work on your part (10–15 minutes), but the one’s I’ve seen are more than worth it!
Video is too easy NOT to do it!
Facebook Audio: Facebook audio hasn’t been rolled out to everyone yet. The easiest way to describe it if you haven’t experienced it yet is it’s Facebook Live video minus the video part.
It’s being rolled out on mobile devices, and is available on Facebook profiles, business pages and in groups. For those who aren’t quite ready to go live on video, audio is the perfect “step-in” because you don’t have to worry about being on camera. I've been thinking of a few different ways I can incorporate audio into my Facebook marketing!
So here are just a couple more of the fun video and audio apps that have arrived (or are arriving) on the scene. Give them a try … and as usual, let me know what you think!
