Payback Update

Journal 1.01

Well, what an anticlimax. After making all the arrangements to meet on Monday, my [potential] sponsee tells me on Sunday that she has a high fever and needs to postpone. That’s cool, I am fine with that.

Its Thursday. No news.

I know she is active as she has a zillion posts on the forum. She sounds chipper. It a forum, we are anonymous. She could have blood pouring out of her eyes. I get it.

But.

On the phone, she sounded desperate. Her voice was cracking, she was holding back tears and was super jittery. I really want to help but as well I dont want to seem like a creepy-middle-aged-stalker guy. Also, we are recovering alcoholics. That means we’re obsessive, damaged and paranoid. To differing extents.

So, I will let it hang.

Its just annoying as she’s done this before when we were first meant to have coffee over a year ago. I have a suspicion that there is commitment phobia happening. Who knows. Maybe she is in bad health and needs to rest.

So, I will let it be.
