Why should I become a Reflective Practitioner

Reflective Practice is a way of studying your own experiences to improve the way you work. (“What is reflective practice? — Brightside”, 2017) So is reflective practitioning sharing those experiences with others? Blogging?

I think blogging is a way of sharing ones experiences with the world. Sometimes as amusement and other times for lessons learnt.

I think that blogging is definitely a collaborative learning and sharing process among users. You reflect your ideas and share your experience or documents by conducting other user. This will help you to improve and evaluate your own thoughts on any subject. (“Blogging for Learning: Mulling it Over”, 2017)

I loved this. It broadened my scope on blogging. If blogging is a collaborative learning and sharing experience, imagine the ideas and experiences from all over the world that I can learn from, try or adapt to suit my needs. Particularly if a favourite blogger is generally on the same topic. Like a Mummy blogger and all her amazing mummy ideas; great ways to pack school lunches or how to make the most of suitcase space.

Along with learning from Mummy’s, there are ways PLN (Personal Learning Networking) can be used for Education. I’m studying a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and if I were placed in a classroom today and told to teach, I’d be worried about the how much learning would actually go on.

As a teacher in progress I find it’s fundamental that I collaborate with others and learn from their experiences and ideas, while getting new ideas. A blog allows all in education to share their ideas, but also share what didn’t work or how they would’ve done things different if they had the chance to do it again. This enabling me and others to learn and try a different road when we get the chance.

This got me thinking…what do I have to say? How can I be enabling the world. My experiences and failures if placed in a blog or learning space can impact others. As of this moment, I could be telling the world of my anxiety and worry as a leave my family 4 times a year for Uni, sorting feelings and sharing with others, as we support one another through the journey. Than once I am a teacher, I can blog my lesson plan ideas and share with readers how it went, how I would differ it and read their feedback on the ideas they may have for me to better the idea I’ve already created.

Blogging and the PLN world create a far wider learning environment. In the future as an educator I will seek such pages to enable myself to become the best teacher possible as I learn and adapt from those within my PLN.

So Here’s to Blogging! I hope your enjoying it so far :-D
