Chicago-based startup HealthJoy raises $3 million in a Series A round led by Chicago Ventures; The firm is developing an AI-powered chatbot app integrated with health professionals teams to reduce the complexity of using health benefits for employees and to save costs for both employees and employers; The funding will be used to fuel further operation growth and product development.

Israel-based startup MedAware raises $8 million from several investors including Becton Dickinson and Gefen Capital in the Series A round; $4 million in grants from several government supported institutions; The firm is providing a solution to eliminate dangerous prescription errors by utilizing machine learning algorithms; Researchers found 75 percent of alerts generated by the solution were effective to identify fatal errors; New funding will be used for product development and market expansion in North America.


San Francisco-based startup Phil raises $10 million led by Crosslink Capital; The firm is developing an app for prescription refill and delivery service; Terms undisclosed; Phil app partners with large chain pharmacies and makes its profit off them.
