At present (this is just my opinion) the relative untrustworthiness of bitcoin’s core devs, who are thought by many to be strategizing for their own benefit, may be inflicting lasting damage not only to the cause of bitcoin, but also to the promise of blockchain technology in general.
You Don’t Understand Bitcoin Because You Think Money Is Real

Thank you for the article! It was great!

But I’m baffled by this particular sentence.. Because the Core devs don’t actually have any power in the ecosystem.

Any change they suggest must be adopted by the nodes (the users) to have an affect on the ecosystem. And there is no reason to believe that the users will adopt any change that does not benefit the users themselves.

If the core devs start “strategizing for their own benefit” then any change they suggest will surely be rejected by the network.

I have written two articles myself to address this particular aspect of bitcoin.
