Tunnel Stéphanie reopened

The amount of cyclists keeps increasing in Brussels. However, because cyclists were ignored for several years there happens to be no space at all for cyclists on the roads of Brussels! At least that’s what we thought…

We are giving back public space to those who deserve it

After many complaints of drivers, predominantly commuters from Flanders and Wallonia, about cyclists on ‘their’ roads, the Federal- Brussels-Regional government come up with a common action plan

“The past weeks we had to close plenty of tunnels. By opening them up to cyclists, we give back the streets and public space to those who deserve it: drivers and their cars!”, said Federal Minister Galant.

Brussels’ Minister Smet continues: “For a certain moment I feared that we would not be able to construct 80 km of cycle lanes, but that’s solved now.”
