Federal Government “has approved a whistle blowing policy for the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) to help in its fight against human trafficking”. According to Voice of Nigeria, the approval was conveyed to NAPTIP’s Director-General, Ms. Julie Okah-Donli, by the Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN).
Business Day reports that “Nigeria is about to embark on a holistic review of all trade and investment agreements it entered with other countries and entities since 1960”. According to the paper, “the review is geared towards updating and modernising such agreements and Memoranda of Understanding, (MoU) to benefit the ailing economy, and create jobs. The review focuses on all our trade and investment agreements from 1960 till date”.
“Oil prices rose on Tuesday, lifted by indications that supply is gradually tightening, especially in the United States. Brent crude oil was up 40 cents at 52.06 dollars a barrel by 0715 GMT. United States light crude was 35 cents higher at 47.72 dollars”, so writes PM News.
Daily Trust reports that “President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that the southeast geopolitical zone will get its dues during his administration.” He “gave this assurance this afternoon while receiving a coalition of Southeast youth group who stormed the Aso Rock Villa gate to declare support for him.”
The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the interim forfeiture of additional assets valued at $16,441,906 linked to former Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke. Channels TV reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission told Justice Abdulaziz Anka that the assets are suspected to be proceeds of corruption.
