№5 Will It Go On?

Echoing The Mother: Companion Poem to PART 1, #9 of The BWS Project Launch Series (2024)

The human giant.
Looking above…
Now below.
Which path will It choose?

Seated on the ground in empty defiance.
Teetering on the edge of —
studying — the dark fork in the road.
It sees subterfuge.

Still, It must choose.
Will It go on?
Or merge with the darkness,
fading into shadow?

The Choir of Echoes lights a fuse:
Even down a dark road, a champion
candles the flame in the omnipresence
of the chorale firing the halo.

Even if It sees a ruse.
If It does not believe in The Everything
It holds within It — It can still reach down in
and pull out one small luminosity.

One tiny glowy Star Of Truth.
Out of The Scarlet Fire, One Mighty Anything
lights up the whole city, scattering shadows, when
It chooses that Holy City.

The epigraph has given up the map. Will It go on?
Even if It does not know how —
does not conceive of where on earth to begin —
It must choose.

From the muse (in the boulder stone):
It must inner-play the pathway out.
It can shiver. It can shake. It can rage at the legend again.
Still, It must choose…and the time is NOW (bell-rings the muse).

Will It go on?
From The Giant Voice in the mirror:
“When you are shaking, think of ME.”
When It is breaking…which does It choose?

In a land far beyond (in a place called Tamaron),
out of the light-stream flowing under a dark swell of fear-and-furor,
a tiny star lights up the whole city.
Or does It refuse? Which does It choose? Will It go on?
